            Italian Food V.S American Food

Food is one of the most important factors in a country’s culture. Different countries have different food cultures, and various styles of making food. Italy and America, two of many countries known to have delicious food, also have many differences in their food culture. The two main differences are the taste and the main food.
First off, Italy and America have a slight differences in the traditional taste of the food. Italy food, in general, is extremely salty. The potato chips, for instance. The food is so salty, in fact, that one has to ask the cook to make it not salty for it to be edible. Otherwise, it barely goes over the throat. American food, in contrast, is greasy. America is known for its greasy food, such as hamburgers, hotdogs, and other types of fastfood. This is why many people have the stereotype that American people are fat. The majority of American food consists of oily material.
The other difference is the food that represents each country. In Italy, the main dishes are pizza and pasta. When one goes to Italy, one can easily see the sight of the Italians having pasta or pizza for their main dish. Italian pasta covers a range of different types of pasta, from the well-known spaghetti, up to the obscure ziti. In America, the main dishes are usually meat or bread. The conventional American meal is bread for the appetizer, and meat for the main dish. As shown, Italy and America differ very much in the fact that the orthodox Italian dish is composed of salty food, whereas the American dish is composed of greasy food.
